After nearly two decades of planning, fundraising, and construction, the 1,000-seat Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) Vineyard Assembly in Knowe, Norton has officially opened its doors. The monumental achievement was capped off by the arrival of President Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa, who personally commissioned the sanctuary, unveiled the commemorative plaque, and officially handed over a fleet of utility vehicles to church leaders.

Underscoring the government's commitment to faith-based institutions, President Mnangagwa unveiled the official plaque, handed over keys to a new vehicle fleet—including a 36-seater bus—and fulfilled a multi-year financial pledge exceeding US$270,000 to guarantee the final completion of the project.

The commissioning ceremony drew congregants, church leaders, and top government officials, transforming the quiet suburb of Knowe into a hub of national celebration.

Upon his arrival, the President briefly went into a private briefing before officially unveiling the commemorative plaque and entering the main sanctuary to deliver his address.

The President's Keynote Address “Today’s gathering underscores the unity of the Church in our beloved motherland, Zimbabwe, and reaffirms our collective commitment to achieving even greater progress for the benefit of our people,” President Mnangagwa stated. Citing Psalm 133:1, he added: “As the Scriptures remind us, ‘How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.’ May this spirit of unity and peace continue to guide our nation.”
"Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo" Reiterating his signature development philosophy, the Head of State urged churches to remain ambassadors of peace and moral uprightness: “We were all created for a purpose... US$270k Cash & Vehicle Handover

To ensure the church operates efficiently and expands its reach, the Head of State presented significant financial pledges and new transport assets.

Multi-Year Financial Backing (US$270,000+) Following an initial appeal led by Baba J. Banganwa in 2022, President Mnangagwa donated US$18,500 towards early structural needs. Subsequent contributions in 2023 and final funding allocations in 2026 brought his total direct project backing to over US$270,000.
