Can Anointing Follow a Bloodline? The Theology of Family Grace and Divine Order

Defending The Makandiwa Family & The Principle of Family Grace

Someone recently posted a picture of Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa, Prophet Ara Makandiwa, and Prophet Tafadzwa Makandiwa and asked: "True anointing comes from God through the Holy Spirit, but when it is the same family, is it not fake and misleading?" This is a sincere question, but it lacks Biblical Theology, Covenantal Understanding, and consistency.

If God can allow talent to follow a bloodline in soccer and music, why can't He allow anointing to follow a bloodline in ministry? Let us explore the Biblical theology behind patriarchal succession.

Overview of the Makandiwa Brothers

Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa’s younger brothers include Tafadzwa, Talent, Romulous (also known as Ara), and Tawanda.

Tafadzwa Makandiwa Frequently seen alongside Emmanuel at family and public events, including recent high-profile gatherings in Harare.

Talent Makandiwa Active on social media and known for participating in family and community events with the United Family International Church (UFIC) leader.

Romulous (Ara) Makandiwa A fellow preacher and minister who is also involved in church-related and public engagements alongside his wife, Noma.

Tawanda Makandiwa Previously served as a pastor within UFIC before stepping down from active pastoral duties following a high-profile divorce proceeding.

The Hypocrisy of Selective Celebration

Celebrating Talent, Attacking Anointing

People have NO problem when anointing or talent follows a bloodline in other fields, but when it comes to the church, they suddenly have a problem. We must expose this hypocrisy.

In Music You celebrate UB40—brothers in one band. You celebrate Morgan Heritage—five children of Denroy Morgan, all anointed in reggae. You celebrate The Jacksons. No one says it's fake.

In Business You celebrate family businesses—Innscor, Delta, Econet. The father builds, the children inherit. No one says it's a scam.

In Soccer (Zimbabwe) We had Peter Ndlovu, Madinda Ndlovu, and Adam Ndlovu—three brothers from Highlanders, all playing for the National Team in 1998. No one said Peter was using juju to make Adam play. We clapped our hands.

Theological Foundation & Order

Covenantal Succession & Priestly Lineage

In Theology, we call it Patriarchal Succession and Priestly Lineage. This is Levitical Theology. God established a SACERDOTAL ORDER where anointing was hereditary. It was not nepotism; it was DIVINE ELECTION through bloodline. God is a God of PROTOCOL and PATTERN.

Moses and Aaron When God called Moses to deliver Israel, He did not call a stranger to help him. He called his own blood brother, Aaron (Exodus 4:14). Ministry started with two brothers.

The Tribe of Levi God did not distribute priesthood to all 12 tribes. He gave it to ONE FAMILY. From generation to generation, only sons of Aaron could enter the Holy of Holies. He was establishing that anointing can be hereditary.

David and His Lineage David was anointed with oil, and his son Solomon was also anointed with the same oil (1 Kings 1:39). Furthermore, David's three oldest brothers were all called to the battlefield for Israel (1 Samuel 17:13). Military anointing followed the family.

Jesus' Biological Brothers James and Jude, biological brothers of Jesus from Mary and Joseph, became Apostles and wrote books of the Bible! Was that fake because they were from the same family? No. It was grace following bloodline.

The Makandiwa Brothers

Separate Fruits, Separate Grace

If you attack the Makandiwa family, you must also attack the Murefu brothers (AFM), the Matebeko/Mtemerera family, the Chivaviros, and the Chiweshes. Why is it only a problem when it's Makandiwa? Look closely at the three Makandiwa brothers—they operate in different geographical areas with distinct fruits.

Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa Father of UFIC, based in Chitungwiza, operating as a national prophet.

Prophet Ara Makandiwa Based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Building his own ministry from scratch in a foreign land, winning souls daily.

Prophet Tafadzwa Makandiwa Leading UFIC Westgate Branch. He did not inherit a crowd; he built Westgate from the ground. That is his own anointing.

My Personal Testimony: I, Evangelist Steven Mapuranga, was at school with Prophet Ara Makandiwa at Living Waters. Every month, he would HIRE A CAR and instruments with his own money and take us for outreach to Muzarabani. No one sent him. Prophet Emmanuel never sent him money to do that. It was his own passion for God since school days. I saw the calling before the title.

Our God is a God of order, favour, and grace. He is not a God of confusion (1 Cor 14:40). God can call using BLOODLINE (Hereditary Anointing), He can call using FAVOUR (Divine Selection), and He can call using GRACE (Unmerited Empowerment).

If He did it then, He can do it now with the Makandiwa family. If God wants to anoint Peter Ndlovu and Adam Ndlovu to play soccer for the same nation, He can. If God wants to anoint the Morgan Heritage brothers to sing in the same band, He can. And if God wants to anoint Emmanuel, Ara, and Tafadzwa from the same womb to preach in the same generation, HE CAN, and He does not need your permission.

Stop looking at the surname. Look at the fruit. The fruit proves the root. It is not a family business; it is COVENANTAL FAMILY GRACE operating under DIVINE ORDER.
