“Start the Work... I Will Find the Money”: Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa Announces President Mnangagwa’s US$2 Million Pledge to UFIC
Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa has revealed that President Emmerson Mnangagwa has pledged US$2 million in building materials towards an ongoing United Family International Church (UFIC) construction project. Makandiwa told the congregation that the pledge was made by the President in his personal capacity, with UFIC instructed to begin the work and provide quotations for the required materials.
The announcement has placed fresh attention on the UFIC construction project, the church’s financial needs and the relationship between Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa and President Mnangagwa. The US$2 million pledge, as described by Makandiwa, is intended to support the procurement of building materials as the church moves forward with its planned infrastructure development.
The Details of the US$2 Million Commitment
Addressing the cheering congregants during a church service, Prophet Makandiwa explained that the financial commitment was offered strictly in the President's personal capacity, rather than as an official state disbursement. According to the cleric, President Mnangagwa instructed the church leadership to commence construction work and submit quotations for the necessary building materials.
The cleric stressed to his followers that the President made a clear distinction regarding how the pledge would be fulfilled, noting his intention to leverage his personal connections and network to mobilize the funds.
During the address, Makandiwa reaffirmed his spiritual support for the President, stating that he and his congregation regularly pray for Mnangagwa and his family out of personal affection and respect. (Neither the Office of the President and Cabinet nor government spokespersons have issued an official statement regarding the reported pledge.)
Minister Michael Mahendere Expresses Profound Gratitude
Following the announcement, Minister Michael Mahendere penned a heartfelt letter expressing profound gratitude to His Excellency, Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, for the US$2 million contribution towards the construction of the UFIC sanctuary.
We express our profound gratitude to Your Excellency for your landmark and magnanimous contribution of USD 2 million towards the construction of the United Family International Church (UFIC) sanctuary United Family Int'l Church (UFIC) my house of faith. I have come to be who I am and where I am because of the house of faith I am part of. Im forever grateful to my Family and Mother Prophets Emmanuel Makandiwa & Mom Ruth Makandiwa.
This monumental gesture transcends philanthropy; it is a profound testament to your visionary leadership and your unwavering commitment to fostering a nation deeply grounded in spiritual values and moral integrity. By extending such esteemed support to the infrastructure of the church, Your Excellency continues to demonstrate that a prosperous nation must be anchored on divine principles.
Your tireless dedication to national development, infrastructural transformation and support and preservation of the Church is a shining beacon of progressive governance. We will continue to pray for wisdom, health, and fortitude as you steer the Republic of Zimbabwe toward greater heights of excellence. May the Almighty richly bless you.
A Season of Abundance: The Chivayo Precedent
The US$2 million pledge from the President is the latest in a series of highly publicized, multi-million dollar investments into the UFIC ministry. Just weeks prior, businessman Sir Wicknell Chivayo gifted Prophet Makandiwa US$1 million in cash for the church construction, along with three brand-new luxury vehicles: a 2026 Rolls-Royce Cullinan, a 2026 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, and a Mercedes-Benz G63 G-Wagon for his wife.
Kingdom Infrastructure and Civic Partnership
The announcement of a US$2 million personal pledge from the President, following closely behind a US$1 million donation and luxury vehicle fleet from a prominent businessman, highlights a remarkable season of resource mobilization for the United Family International Church.
For pastors and ministry leaders observing these events, the lesson extends beyond the sheer magnitude of the figures. It underscores the profound influence of a ministry that has successfully positioned itself at the intersection of spiritual authority and civic engagement. As Minister Mahendere articulated, support for the infrastructure of the church by national leaders demonstrates an understanding that a prosperous nation must be anchored on divine principles.
